A Great App

This is a great app indeed. I am a new user so I just hope that it keeps on updating to include new models.

a museum and a help desk at the same time

well organized go-to place for information about your mac (or ANY other apple device that you may own). also nice having access to array of historical information about the products.

Okay… But…

Great app. Been using it since 2008. However, it does NOT give the information of ALL the hardware Apple has released. What about the AppleCD drives? And PowerCD? And a LOT of the images are not of the actual product! Example, Apple ADB Keyboard (The IIGS one). And what is it with the construction and dotty backgrounds? Worth the download, but needs improvement.

Looks like a good app

But it always crashes whenever I want to open a detail window Hope you can finish this bug in the next update

Straightforward informative application

Fantastic whenever you need details on any model of anything Apple has ever made. I use it all the time for reference when friends or family ask me about the capabilities of their computer, or what upgrades they can do. Its a great reference for your own hardware too or hardware you know youll have to use somewhere else - most any detail you need to know about your machine is easily found: connections, supported formats of media, original prices, etc.

The best reference you can get for Apple hardware

If you ask yourself a question about the hardware of a particular Mac model, you WILL find the info youre looking for using MacTracker. Awesome app.

Warranties, Technical Info & Mac History

This app has been very useful to me. When I needed to check if my Macbook was still under warranty or not, instead of waiting on hold with Apples tech support, I opened Mactracker and all my warranty and model info was all right there. So its a time saver in that way. Second, as long as you have entered your serial numbers of your Apple products correctly into Mactracker, than Mactrack also provides you with technical info that can be useful to know about, like compatibility issues and features of different models. Finally, Mactracker lists every single Apple product ever made. Not only is it fun to look through Apples product history, but it can also useful if you need to look up an old model to see its features and compatibility. An indespencible app if you want to keep track of Apple products, serial number and warranties.

Very useful app

I dont use it all the time but when I do its very useful for finding info on either my mac or another apple product! great work !

Pretty cool application

Im not in IT nor do I run a computer store, so I wouldnt use this often, but this app is a helpful resource for looking up specs. Things you may need to know once in a while like how much memory it supports, and based on the model, whether you can do a self-upgrade on it. The app is well done and I wouldnt be surprised if it was the best of its kind.

Love you long time

Man this has been around for eons! and updated constantly. Great resource. Thanks.

Good tool for reference. But the "my models" page needs work.

The app has a lot of good information. But the my models section of the app needs a lot of work. For example, you canot edit the country of manufacture field, and what format is the dates in? mm/dd/yyy? It definatly needs some work.

Useful and Fun

I really enjoy being able to look back at the progression of the Macs and other Apple products Ive owned over the years. Elegant and simple.

cool application

really good source of information for anyone new or experience in Apple world, thanks for making it free :) I really love this App!

Lifesaver!

I work alot with older Macs, and this app is an absolute integral part of my workflow. Fantastic! Light, pretty and super robust!

This APP is the Bomb!

I must say this is the best App ever. Look up stats, etc on all apple computers. Great for reference, doing comparisions, etc. Well worth it!

Its great

Its really fun to just look at the specs of the older macs!

Good Reference Tool

An excellent reference tool for searching information about Apple products. I wish it was more stable though. I took off a few stars cause its been crashing a lot lately!!

Version 7?

This as a great tech tool that many of us need to be able to use on earlier systems than those running 10.7. Sorry to see the developer push off Snow Leopard users. Also, no new iMacs? What happened?

A classic database app that has every mac ever made.

I remember loading up the previous versions of this program on my Mac OS 9 and Mac OS 8 machines many years ago, and its great to see this app is still around, and still complete. Theres even things in here like the Quicktake cameras, which for the time really brought a lot of people into the "digital photography era", albeit at a now-paltry resolution of 640x480. The first time I ever saw the original mac, even in monochrome, there was just something really nice about it that no other computer had managed. My first computer was a Commodore 64, but it was the Mac, the original 128K Mac (before it was even called Classic), that really made the whole "WIMP" thing make sense. (Windows, Icons, Mouse, Pointer). Later on we called that a GUI. I remember how surprised I was when I learned that you ejected floppy disks by dragging them into the trash. I loved how when you did that, an action in a virtual world was accompanied by a noise, and a real world reaction (the mac had a motorized floppy disk ejection system). Like something from the virtual world (the icon of the disk) teleported into reality. It was magic. Still is. Thanks to Ian for making this application

Always crash on launch

On a 15" MacBook Pro with Retina screen. Any idea why? Tried deleting the app and reinstalling. Does not help.
