Even if you’re a casual user (i.e. not a tech geek) you should download this app. You will find it immensely helpful (especially in times of need like repairs, resale, getting replacement parts, etc.) for identifying your exact computer or idevice. For the Apple/Mac afficiando or collector, it is an invaluable tool. It’s also fun to just take a trip down memory lane through all the many, many years of Apple products. How many products have you owned? Do you remember your first Apple II from back in the 70’s? Ian Page has done an excellent job with this app. Thank you Ian!

Must have app

This is a great source for reference information about all of the various devices which Apple has made or currently makes (computers, iPods, iPhones, displays, routers, printers, etc.). I used this to list and organize all of my Apple devices (includes purchase date, serial numbers, type, model, etc.) for quick reference and comparison. I also use the various device specification information for comparisons and helping to determine if I should step up to a newer model for certain capabilities or keep what I currently have (i.e., Should I buy the new Airport Extreme Base station, given my current model/generation version?).

I really do appreciate the wonderful app. I’m very grateful for the information that allowed me to upgrade my computer’s ram. I’m so pleased because the app actaully tells the user the true maximum amount of ram your computer can support. That amount is greater than the suggested amount from apple. Thanks so much :) PS THE NEW DESIGN IS INCREDIBLE

In my opinion, this app is important. I have been a Mac-user in 1984 and first learned about computers on an Apple II. This app has personal importance to me, beuase I can reminise about past items. It’s like hoarding without taking any space! Also, the startup chimes are so great! Just listening to those bring back all sorts of memories. This app is a really stable, well-made application that is well-orgainized and easy-to-use. It is fitting to have such a great app on iOS and Max OS X that is a tribute to the past, as well as representing excellence is appication development today.

I can spend hours prowling around this app. Love that I have a singe source I can use to compare benchmarks and all of the options and variatlons of all things Apple. Great snippets of history about most of the models and whether you’re buying new, used, or just curious, all of the specs are here in a very intuitive and simple to use app.

Props for the creators of this app for OS X and iOS. Such a handy resource.

Great so that I don’t have to go the Apple website to look up stuff for when I’m intrested in a new iMac.

MacTracker is a great, easy to use, very informative application. Every Mac user should have this app, just in case they ever need info on their Mac for repair or upgrades. It is especially useful to me, because I actually do repairs and upgrades on iPhones and Macs for other people. Thanks, Ian Page.

This would require some work but if this app pulled it’s data from the internet you would not have to constantly update the app. Its frustrating for me, the common user. Thank you

MacTracker is great a reference tool for finding out what the specs are on every product, Apple has made. I use it everytime I get ready to buy a used Mac.

I use the application quite often, being in the business of buying and selling used Macs. This application gets right to the point of maximum OS, max RAM etc without all the fluff or ads of websites like TotalMac and such. There is even an excelent mobile app for iOS by this same developer that gives you MacTracker on the go. Super usefull!

This is a great little app that gives you access to information about seemingly every Mac ever shipped. It let’s you know the specifics about each make and model. Say you’re wondering about a friend’s computer—about how to help a friend with their Mac that has say a dead boot-drive or whatever—this app gives you the information that you need, so yo know that their Mac has a FireWire 400 port and you can plug-in that way to boot off of a backup.

One of my MUST HAVE apps ;) Love it. Maybe in future, i would like to see more specific parameters of the computers.

I really love this app. THis is the best source i know of for finding apple product history. Also this is the biggest collection of products i’ve found too. The only issue though, is that this still has not been updated to include the Apple watches.

It would be nice if the Apple Watches were included in the next update.

I’ am very satisfied about this application Mactracker ver. 7.4.4. Now it’s complete info for macbook 12” and meny more other.
